Update - Tina Marie's Ramblings
Red hair and black leather, my favorite colour scheme...
Back in April I posted what I planned to get accomplished this year.

Time for an update:
  • Take my private-pilot glider checkride May 1. - Done
  • Take the instrument written exam (before the end of May). - Done
  • Get Michael's glider annualed (I'd like to have this done in May, but realistically it'll be the middle of June). - Not done. It's inside, but I haven't even started on the annual.
  • Spend the summer weekends soaring one day and working on my instrument rating the other. - *shrug* I've been soaring less and working on the instrument rating more. We'll call this one a wash.
  • Tripacer annual inspection - This weekend and next. It's going to be quick this year - I'm not going to fix anything that isn't going to kill me.
  • Take my private-pilot instrument practical early in the fall. - Not exactly done, but at least scheduled for August 21st.
  • Spend the winter on the commercial glider rating/glider flight instructor rating.
  • Take my glider flight instructor practical in the spring, just in time for the new batch of students.

Not bad. We'll see how the annual goes.

I hope your annual goes good. Our plane is going to be out of annual for a good part of August. It's due by the end of this month, but our IA is out of the country until the 31st! And when he gets back, there is a guy with a Skymaster in line ahead of us. So we're going to take that down time to replace / repaint some of the yellowing / cracking interior plastic.

Cool! I usually do these really intense 3-month annuals, but this year there's just not much that needs fixed. I may need to replace the #3 (left rear) cylinder, depending on what the compression test says, but I've done cylinders before and it's not a big deal with a few extra hands.

Good luck with yours. :)
