Heard at the dentist...
I got my permanent crowns put on today.

When they were almost done, she said, "I'm going to use this orange gel to remove the cement from your lips..."

Except I didn't hear the 't' in cement.

I nearly fell out of the chair giggling.

Did she speak with an accent?

As in CEE-ment?
Otherwise I don't get it. =^)
I always get the giggles when I am stressed, like when I'm sitting in the dentist's chair. And there is nothing that pisses my dentist off more than me giggling with a mouf full of cotton so that she can't a)see the humor in anything or b)do her job.

Re: Did she speak with an accent?

Yep. CEE-ment is the default local pronunciation...

I was having a veneer put in and the dentist dropped it in my mouth. He yelled out, "Don't swallow!" I had to turn around face down to spit the tooth out because I was laughing so hard, I was sure I would aspirate it. I then told him, "Well. That's the first time I've ever been told THAT." At first he just stared at me, then he turned red and started howling, and had to pace up and down the hall between the exam rooms before he could gain his composure. Now every time I see this guy, he gives me the "look."
