You do have a serious problem.

No, that is why you don't have vermin in your pantry. It's the Amazing Robo-Mouser 3000!! You can tell it's powering up by the slight glow of the optical apertures.

Or else Miss Liza is planning slow-cooker human stew, and she's just commencing communications with Zoltron for a suitable recipe.

the night after i got home from the pagan gathering, i was sitting in the kitchen, and i saw a mouse scamper across the floor. all i could tell was that it was dark grey - a house mouse, rather than any kind of outdoor mouse. (once, at the house we used to live in, a tiny beige deer mouse got into the house. i discovered this when i saw and heard Loki cavorting about to the accompaniment of shrill squeaks. Loki played with that mouse too much, though, and the critter got away, and left the house.) the next night, i saw the mouse again.

i went to Lowe's and got a live-catch mousetrap, and, sure enough, it caught the mouse. i took it outside and released the terrified rodent into the yard of the house across the street, which happens to be the residence of the Republican and "Tea Party" candidate for mayor.

i cleaned and re-set the trap, but it's been sitting there un-tripped for four days, so i guess i don't have mice, i just had one mouse.

i'm rather glad, though, that Loki wasn't around to pursue this mouse. for one thing, he might have treated it even more cruelly than a glue trap. for another, i'd be worried that eating a wild creature would give him parasites and/or diseases.

i hope the mayoral candidate's house has at least one crevice where the mouse could get in...
