Further proof that absolutely everything exists on the Internet: I'm modifying a utility to allow the user to specify the port of the SQL server instead of just assuming the default. So I went to look up the correct syntax for the connection string, and this was the first return in Google:


It's an amazing collection of connection strings for every database under the sun.

It's so getting bookmarked.

Pity it doesn't have anything on DBI (Perl's interface to databases) - but then again, in most cases, DBI abstracts the database well enough that the only different thing you often do is specify the driver. But there are probably some database-specific options that may have been useful.
