Apple-Cranberry Pie

It was a busy weekend.

Thursday, we went to Mike's parent's for Thanksgiving.

Friday, we bought, set up, and decorated the tree. And I learned that Gel Gems can't survive a year in a Houston attic.

Saturday, I baked. I did a batch of Orange-Spice Madeleines. I'd never done madeleines before, but they came out wonderful. I only had one pan, so I had to do them in batches - I ordered a second pan on Amazon for the next time. Then there were the 17 fruitcakes - if you're not on my fruitcake list, and you'd like to be, leave me a comment and I'll get an address from you. And an apple-cranberry pie. I probably won't make that in a pie again - it was really good, and I loved the cranberries in it, but the crust refused to stay together. I finally gave up and just scooped it out of the pie pan with a spoon. Made for a good picture, though.

Sunday, I had lunch with an old friend I hadn't seen in years. We were meeting up at West Oaks Mall, so I got there way early, thinking I was going to have to fight for a parking space. The mall was totally empty - I got the second parking space from the end, and I didn't see any row with more then 4 or 5 cars in it. This does not bode well for Christmas spending, I suspect.

Oh, and somewhere in there, we hit level 80!

I believe I do. I know I have an address for you on my fruitcake list (which is at home), and Oakwood sounds right. If not, I'll drop you an email tonight. :)
