It's the blind guy... - Tina Marie's Ramblings
Red hair and black leather, my favorite colour scheme...
It's the blind guy...
Three nuns in church on a hot day decide to remove their robes because of the heat. Not an unusual habit on a hot day. So about a half hour later, the door bell rings while their robes are slumped over pews clear across the huge chapel.

They ask who it is. "The blind man," a voice replies.

The three nuns decide to simply open the door because the man is blind. He walks in, looks at the nuns and says, "Nice tits! Where do you want me to install these blinds?"

My blinds:

It's hard to see them well in the picture, but they're two separate shades. The back one is light-blocking, and comes in solid colors. The front one is like sheer curtains - it's mostly translucent, with transparent "burnouts" where you can see the color through them.

I saw them in the JC Penny catalog, and loved them instantly. I think they're too much color for downstairs, but I'm getting a green and a purple set for the bedroom and office. Now, to find the cheapest price....

how about a beige, off-white, or very pale yellow (instead of stronger colors) for the downstairs? (i really like the concept behind those blinds.)

I saw them in the store in beige, and they just didn't look very noticable. They're impressive in bright/dark colors, but in beige, they just looked...beige. I've got some thermal tabtop curtains in the living room now, but I've not ruled out the idea of the shades at some point in the future.

i put off-white tab-top curtains in my bedroom. even after i bought "blackout cloth", and attempted to line them with it myself, there's still way too much light getting in after sunrise. not only does it make it harder for me to sleep (i keep "fruitbat" hours), it also adds to the thermal load on the A/C. so i'm very partial to the notion of light-blocking shades/blinds...

That's one of the reasons I didn't order them for downstairs - I don't sleep in there. And that window gets very little light anyway, and then only in the early morning. I do have thermal tabtops, but they've not been up long enough for me to notice a change.

But upstairs where I sleep, I want it dark. Especially since I'm using the front bedroom as the master, and everybody leaves their porch lights on all night.

my problem is that i'm just renting this house. and it came with venetian blinds already installed on every window - but the blinds aren't opaque enough, and light leaks in around them anyway. the only place this is a problem is in the bedroom, though. i should just get different curtains, i guess.

I've seen some good blackout-type curtains. When I was between curtains a while back, the easiest thing for me was to go buy one of those sleep masks. Then I didn't care how bright the room was, because I couldn't see it anyway.

Or you could always add duct tape around the edges - "If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy!"

i don't think i'd be able to sleep with a mask tied around my head. also, i'm afraid to try it, because i had cataract surgery on both eyes a couple of years ago, and now i find that any pressure on my eyelids can have very unpleasant consequences (eye irritation to the point that i can't see out of one or both of 'em).

i've already got duct tape, around the air conditioner flanges...

My Dad told me this nun joke:

Two nuns are in the bath.
"Where's the soap?" says the one.
"It does, doesn't it" replies the other one, excitedly.
