gods, i love gyoza/pot-stickers... but i can't eat them unless i make them myself, leaving out the onion, garlic, and cabbage (replacing them with cracked black pepper and more ginger), and substituting sweet mirin for the vinegar in the sauce. and i usually make the dough for them myself, just because i like the texture. but i hardly ever have the time and/or the energy to make them at home... and i can't order them in a restaurant, obviously.

now, of course, i'm going to have to make the time, and get some ground pork, and make a whole mess of 'em and freeze 'em.

well, i can always make up a BIG mess of seasoned ground pork, and get some wonton skins, and make some into potstickers, and some into wontons (for fried wontons). and i always have some of the pork mixture left over, so i roll it into tiny little meatballs, coat them with either cornstarch or panko crumbs, and deep-fry them, then use them in stir-fry.

damn. there goes my weekend ;-)

They were really easy, and didn't take much time at all. The only change I made was to add a bit of garlic and green onion to the sauce.

Do you have any recipies for the Applied Bucket Chemistry School of Cooking? (i.e. the way I cook)
