Oh, this is too funny! From Yahoo! News:
Homeland security and military aircraft, including two F-16s and a Black Hawk helicopter, were scrambled to intercept the Cessna 150 turboprop and escort it to an airport in nearby Maryland on May 11.
Wonder if I can make my Piper Cub a turboprop, too?

That would be a "Super Duper Cub", right?

It might be expensive, because, you know, I'd want to do it to the twin-engine Piper Cub.

Actually, there was a tri-motored Tripacer once. They hung two extra engines where the struts connected to the wings. I've seen pictures on the Short Wing Piper, but my membership is expired, and I didn't have a lot of luck googling for them.

There was also a biplane Tripacer. I tracked it down in AZ once - it was real, it was done on field approvals in the 60's, and it was still flying 2-3 years ago (but for sale). The owner said it was heavy, slow, and had the perfomance of the 135hp - on a 180hp. It was a tailwheel conversion, with the bottom wing attached to the original gear attach points on the lower longerons.

Try getting that past the FAA today. :)
