It looked like a nice day to go riding. Actually, it looked like it was going to rain, but we were going west, and it was much nicer in that direction.
We headed out to Luling, TX, and had some really amazing BBQ. Much fun was had by all, until about 5 miles outside of Waller, TX.
That's where I went into a corner too fast, hit a slippery patch, and went off the road. The bike and I parted ways, and both tumbled though the grass. Luckily, I didn't hit the ground until I was in the grass.
A very nice older couple stopped, let me put the bike in their truck, and drove me to the ER while Mike followed. I was wearing gear, so I only have a few small abrasions on one side...and a broken right wrist. The ER put it in a splint and told me to call an orthopedic guy on Monday.
The bike may be ridable - they're going to bring it back to me tomorrow. I know the cowling is cracked, both mirrors are missing, both turn signals are missing, and it's got some new scratches.
Work is going to be very interesting for a while with only one hand to type with.
I feel like such an idiot.
( X-rays! And other picts! )Needless to say, I'm probably not going to be doing much email or commenting for a while. Oddly, the iPhone is the best interface I have for email, since it doesn't use a mouse. And no WoW, since I can't play with only one hand.
It's going to be a long next few weeks.
