I'm sure this has been discussed at some point, but it doesn't seem to be in memories. I am in the market for a new slow cooker. I have a Rival 5 quart round Crock-Pot that I bought in the mid-90s that is my workhorse, but I'm finding that sometimes, I really need a bigger or differently-shaped crock. I have made myself dizzy by looking up reviews, and I'm kind of going crazy about things like that the cooker most liked by Amazon users is not recommended by Good Housekeeping because it doesn't get hot enough fast enough on low.

My requirements: At least 6 quarts, oval, removable crock, removable (not hinged) lid, dishwasher safe a plus. Must be able to cook soups/stews on low for 12 hours without burning. Under $100. I slightly prefer manual knob over electronic settings. (Though I kind of felt that way about my washer, and the electronic settings work just fine.)

The All-Clad 99009 seemed to be the overall favorite in many of the non-Amazon reviews I found, but I neither have the money nor the storage space for this one.

I'm looking for real world experiences and recommendations for slow cookers that I can still buy.
(It doesn't really help me now if you can't live without the cooker you inherited from your mother! :)

Ok I've looked everywhere for info on this and I'm at a loss.

I've never had great fps in raids. I'm on a Macbook and I know it's not ideal. But I manage somehow. Anyways, the past couple of weeks I've had HORRIBLE problems with disconnecting in 25-mans. My fps will be okay (~15) but a few seconds into combat I will disconnect. Then I can't log in until either the boss is downed or it's a wipe.

This is getting really frustrating. I tried logging in with no addons, still didn't work. Deleted my cache, restarted the computer, nothing.

Any idea what's going on? As I said, I used to have the *occasional* D/C during raids, but never anything like this. I am literally locked out of any fights and I have no idea why it just started happening in the last couple weeks.

Any Mac Users Here?

After being a PC user for the last bajillion years, I finally, completely switched over to Mac (MacBook Pro and iMac). It's been a bit of an adjustment, but overall, it was for the best and I love my new systems.

I finally got WoW installed, did all the updates, and set up all my addons. When I went to play last night, I noticed that all my addons work except for Carbonite. At first, I thought that maybe I'd forgotten to turn it on in the addons panel (the one in the toon selection screen), but when I opened that window, Carbonite isn't even showing. The rest of the addons are there (Tour Guide, TomTom, Elephant, etc), but Carbonite is nowhere to be found.

I double-checked the file path. It's in Applications\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons (the exact same spot as the addons that are showing/working). It's unzipped properly. Just for shits and giggles, I deleted the Carbonite folder, re-downloaded the file, and did everything all over again, double-checking as usual.

Still nothing. On the Carbonite website, it suggests that you check to make sure all the files and folders are there. They are. Nothing's missing.

I don't think it's a computer glitch, because I can't get the addon to work on either system (laptop or desktop).

I'm at a bit of a loss, here. Anyone else have this problem?? I'm considering just switching to another addon, because I've been fighting with this since last night, and I just want to play!

Any suggestions? Does anyone use QuestHelper?

So ladies, help me get my old pretty Grid setting back, please? What am I doing wrong here?

I remember reading about a new raiding addon that was similar to DBM or Bigwigs but has some new options.
Unfortunately, I was at work when I read about it and now can't remember the name or where I read it, but it was very probably here, so after looking around the addon posts here and not seeing it, I thought maybe just asking would be a good idea.
Anyone know what I'm looking for?

Also, I was wondering if anyone knew of raid frames that supports showing raid icons on targets.
I find that when there are a lot of mobs, and the kill order is skull, X, square etc. It can take more time than I want to get the correct target.
Any thoughts?

Edit: Found it. I forgot about the calendar feature which was oh-so-helpful! I remembered this was written in or around August, so started there rather than looking through page after page of entries. :) The only problem is that it says I have to use the broiler at the end of the cook time. Our broiler is broken, so is there something else I can do to brown this? Would turning the temp up drastically work?

Hi. A while back, a mac 'n cheese recipe was posted here (I think). It had gouda, American and cheddar cheese in it. Unfortunately, I cannot find the recipe and no longer have a saved copy since the motherboard in my previous laptop died. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? One phrase I can remember was "chop the hell out of the onion." LOL.

What are some of your favorite and funny, sneaky things to do? I think all I can run are WG and Aranthi Basin for now.

My neighborhood is doing a progressive Christmas dinner...
Now instead of full on dinner, each house is going to prepare an appetizer and a drink.
I need ideas for something nice, it is only a group of about 14 adults. We will only have 30 minutes in our house for said, drinks and appetizers.
Yes, I could do cheese and crackers, but I am trying to think outside the box... what can i do?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

So I may or may not have a hugeeee folder of baking recipes on my computer and a small obsession with baking around the holidays. :) While searching for some new recipes to try, I stumbled across this video on how to best package baked goods if you are mailing them to someone. Most of the advice is common sense, but I still found it helpful, and if anything, validating that I am doing the right things when sending cookies and other yummy items.

Hi everyone

Quick question, last year I traveled to Cuba and with a local I tasted black beans. She made them in a rice cooker and added a prepackaged blend of spices. They were amazing!

I attempted a few times to copie the recipe back home but I was very unsuccessful. I need help.

I have a slow cooker if this helps, I'd like to use that.

Anyone has a recipe or a few tips on how to cook beans? I really want to start including them in my diet.

I know the spice blend had some cumin and oregano, so if you have a few ideas on what I could throw in it.

It's time for another World Event!

Now for something that may seem off topic - What level is your cooking?

With the recipes from Pilgrim's Bounty, it seems you can pretty much boost level your cooking from 1 - 300 with the cheap mats from the vendors (25 copper for 5 - depending on which mats you need).

Don't know if this is a bug, but I thought I'd point this out to everybody. I now have my main, and 3 alts at 300 cooking. Enjoy!

Also, who here is enjoying their new pet for Wow's 5th anniversary? He's so cute ^.^

UI help please..

I've been playing on a macbook, its 13" ... I love how it performs but as i get more and more into the game the screen size is bugging me. So till I can afford to get a monitor to attach to it I'm tryin to make my screen as clean as possible.

How do i get my UI to look like this
I have sexymap, dominos, button facade w/ apathy ... I got the buttons and map in that type of layout but I cant figure out how they got the boxes around the bottons, and how the chat is like that... Also what bar is that on the bottom? I have been using titan

Is there a way to hide tool tips completely? Someone said cowtip which i installed but it wont let me configure it. :(

From reading the patch 3.2 notes where it says, "If a player is at their appropriate spell hit chance or hit chance maximum, their pet will be at the maximum for spell hit chance, hit chance, and expertise. If they are below the maximum, their pet will be proportionately below those maximums," I thought that "proportionately" meant that pets scaled at exactly the same amount as a hunter now. However someone pointed out to me today that was not true and so I've had my pet smacking a dummy for 2 hours to confirm it. No, it still rounds down. :/

Sorry for confusing or wrongly correcting anyone, pet hit still rounds down.
If you have 7.99% hit, your pet will have 7% and miss 1% of the time.

(The hit rating list has been edited accordingly.)

So awhile back after the new feral forms were released, I heard some talk about new moonkin and tree forms but haven't heard anything of it since.

Now, I play feral but I heal a lot too and I think I'm ready to not look at a brown piece of bark anymore... was it just something they mentioned just wanting to do or does anyone know if they're actually *working* on it?

First of all, the old NPC character "Guild Banker" has arisen back from the dead and has started to return items back to former GMS of old and defunct / disbanded Guilds.

If you get "Guild Banker" Mails like this, PLEASE leave the items intact, and let the GM's know you have been affected. They are now looking into this matter.
