is the BEST dough... it uses chilled vodka in place of some of the water, and is absolutely fool proof. You might have to register to see it, but it's free. This is the only pie crust I make now.
We make fried apple pies with it. We find that Crisco works best, it gives a wonderful crisp finish to the pies, and doesn't seem to soak into the crust as bad as liquid vegetable oil.
Oh yeah, we've also discovered that grating the apples into coarse shreds works great for fried pies and for regular pie. The apple seems to sort of melt. Nom nom nom.
