We bought Rock Band right after Christmas, but after a few bad attempts, and one defective guitar, we pretty much ignored it until last week. But since we had 3 people last week, we got it out to try again.

It's more addictive then I thought it would be. We've been playing pretty much every night, and last night we got our Deluxeline Van! We didn't understand how the stars worked, so we had been doing the same thing over and over instead of progressing, which explains why we had so much trouble getting new songs to unlock - but I think we have it down now.

I'm amused at the amount of real cash it's possible to spend - the game, the instruments, the track packs, the downloadable songs. $2 doesn't sound like much for a song, but once you've downloaded a dozen of them, it really adds up! But how can I be expected to pass up all the Jimmy Buffet and Stevie Ray Vaughan songs?

In other news, Mike got hit on the FZ6 Tuesday on his way to lunch. He was stopped at a light, and a woman in a BMW rear-ended him. The frame on the bike is broken, so it's a total loss, but he got lucky and only has a sprained/bruised/swollen ankle and knee.

I'm sure it's was entirely unrelated, but he mentioned to me last night what wonderful paint jobs the Hayabusa comes in this year...

I'm glad Mike's ok. He's so cute and nerdy.

I just looked at the Haybusa from your link...

I can't find the horsepower, but the engine has a greater displacement than my Civic Hybrid.

(sigh)

Yeah, it's got the Civic beat even when both motors are going.

Ouch! Thank Glub it wasn't worse. Did the Bimmer-Moo even apologise for being such a dumbass?

Re: Hayabusa. When I took the MSF course in Nov., two of the instructors and many of the students were current or recently-ex-military.* One of the "students" had a Hayabusa. In the ensuing discussion about said model, one of the instructors mentioned how he was driving in his car a while ago on I-15 from Vegas to L.A., at about 100 mph, and a Hayabusa passed him. Not just "slowly passed him", but "passed him like VOOM!" Definitely a "Holy shit, Leroy!" moment.

* I guess enough soldiers et al. have been de-braining themselves riding their motorcycles and being immortal that The Powers That Be passed a new rule: If you wanna ride on base, you WILL take the MSF and you WILL get a sticker proving you did and put it on your bike and if you ride on base without said sticker your bike WILL be taken away from you like a toy from a naughty child. So my class had a lot of soldiers who may have "known" how to ride, but who Had To Follow The Rule.
