I've generally not talked much about politics here, but this was too good not to steal from Whatever:
Just for the hell of it:

1. Tell me something you don’t like about your preferred presidential candidate
and
2. Tell me something you do like about the other guy (or guys, if you want to pitch in minor candidates).
Mine:

Obama's enthusiasm for gun control is off-putting at best. And he's a lot more enthusiastic about faith-based-initiatives then I'd like. He's wobbly on gay marriage.

Sarah Palin's husband has a SuperCub. Whatever else you may say about her, she's likely to be the most GA-friendly person in recent history in the Executive Branch.

Current Mood: political

I don't like that Obama is so wishy washy on gay marriage. He's for civil commitment, but an absolute no on gay marriage.

2. Tell me something you do like about the other guy

I like Sarah Palin's hair styles. I keep wondering how she gets that platycephalic look... oh, and her glasses. I might look for a cheap knock-off when I get new ones, if they'll accommodate bifocals.

"platycephalic" is so going on my list of "cool words I didn't know existed!"

The only good thing I can think of to say about McCain is that if he gets elected, there is an extremely slight, but non-zero, chance that he might stop sucking up to the religious right and the neo cons like he's been doing for the last 8 years and go back to his almost sane platform from his 2000 campaign. Not that I agree with it, but it was a hell of a lot less objectionable than his current platform.

1. I don't like Obama's lack of foreign and executive experience. If I were not an atheist I'd pray to God he puts his ego aside and picks people for his cabinet that he doesn't care if they look smarter than he does.

2. I like it that if a woman is going to be addicted to something, at least Cindy picked something good, like opiates. A woman after my own heart. ;) Ok, seriously, I like McCain's stance on the 2nd Amendment.

Obama is a little too Christian for my comfort, and even when he's being "inclusive", all he seems to "include" are the Abrahamic religions plus Hinduism and Buddhism. and Biden is a standard-model party hack.

i can't think of a single thing i like about McCain or Palin. they scare me. alas, i'm just a bit too old to fit the qualifications to become a Canadian (or Australian) resident.
