First off, many thanks for all the emails and comments last week. It was a tough week, and I really appreciated the thoughts. I'm still doing a lot of processing, and it'll probably all end up in a long, rambling post later this week.
In other, more cheerful news:
My MacBook Air showed up on Wednesday. Despite all the advice I got to not open it, sell it on eBay, and buy a MacBookPro, I kept it. I love it. It'll be the perfect size to travel with, and it's plenty powerful for everything except WoW. I picked up a DVI switch so I can use my normal monitor as a secondary, as well as switch audio and USB, so at home I can run it with a dual screen and a full-size keyboard and mouse.
My Windows machine got upset about all the attention the Air was getting, and tonight decided to stop booting. After I reminded it that I didn't care, since I'd backed it all up yesterday (doesn't everyone do full backups on the last day of the month?), and I waved the restore disk in it's direction, it seems to have magically fixed itself.
Mike decided to join in the fun and get a MacBook Pro. That means in the last few months we've gone from 0 to 3 Macs in the house.
driftingfocus has been pointing us at all the software we need to get up and running. We're just going to cross-grade Photoshop. I'm sticking with iPhoto for organization for now. I've got Skype and Adium, so leave me a comment if you'd like me to add you to either of those contact lists. Spaces rules, but I'd be even happier if I could assign a specific space or set of spaces to each monitor.
And tonight I hit 20 hours (in 43 days) on the WiiFit. Not bad, considering I was down a few days last week with battery problems. I've only actually lost a few pounds, but it's really helping me sleep a lot better at night, and I can see a lot of progress on the yoga poses. Flexibility FTW!
