Okay, I'm puzzled.
My mother's record player died, so I'm semi-permanently loaning her mine. It lives on a shelf on a bookshelf, with its two speakers. I use the spot between the speakers for semi-important stuff - old logbooks, that sort of thing. In preparation for taking it over there tomorrow, I was cleaning off the shelf around it.

I moved a stack of old manuals for things I don't own anymore, and 9 $100 bills fell out of one of them.

9 crisp, clean, brand-new $100 bills.

I have no clue where they came from. None at all. I called Michael, and he has no idea either. You'd think if I lost them that I'd remember it. But I don't. The last time I would have had that much cash would probably have been when I went to buy the Starduster (5, maybe 6 years ago), but I don't remember carrying that much cash, let alone losing it.

I'm going to be up half the night thinking about this. There are worse things to worry about, I suppose. And my house-down-payment fund can use the money. But I'm still confused where they came from...

I know one thing - I'm going to tell this to everyone I know, and I'll never have problems getting people to help me clean my apartment again!

Current Mood: confused confused

well, if the Hundred-Dollar-Bill Fairy doesn't have anything better to do, s/he can certainly come visit me...

Second attempt

I didn't notice that LiveJournal had forgotten my login (which it seems to do completely at random - I'll give Slashdot one thing - it never forgets my login!)

I can provide a very very good home for nine $100 bills if it's bugging you too much.

(The most I've ever found in a book I've haven't opened in years was a post-it note telling me I had broken the nightly build...8 years ago)

Re: Second attempt

They're making some security changes to the URLs and the cookies. It forgot mine too.

And I think I have several options for them, but thanks for offering. :)
